The Sabbath Day

Another week has rolled past and here it is, Friday again. For my Happy Sabbath post, I thought I'd share this poem that I wrote Sabbath afternoon last week. To all my friends: Happy Sabbath and may God bless you!

The Sabbath Day - K.Bailey

The warmth of the sunset is fading from orange to grey
The blessing of night creeps in to end another day
The tune of the songbird, the voice of the wind in the trees.
The cicadas and crickets, the frogs and the gentle breeze.

The drift of the clouds is as ceaseless and fleeting as time,
The twilight defends and robs the day of it's shine.
The dream of creation, the sounds of approaching God,
Imagine the joy as creation greets it's Lord.

The rest of the earth and the symbol of it's birth,
The Sabbath returns to remind us again of it's worth.
The day of Divine, the moment of Holy reboost,
Let all of the voices of heaven and earth be loosed.

The presence of God, Holy Spirit, and Jesus in one;
The joy of the spirit and pride of the Father in Son.
The heavenly angels, the beings from other worlds,
The everlasting Sabbath day unfolds.

The prayers of the people calling their Father above,
The peace that they feel in Hi widespread, eternal Love.
The smiles of the children, the fellowship granted is sweet.
Together on Sabbath we meet.

The warmth of the sunset is fading from east to west.
Heaven has graciously blessed the earth with rest.
The Sabbath is gone, the new week begun;
Praising the Father, the Spirit and Son.
