...the eleventh day...

(24-05-13)
I can’t believe I’ve caught up! This diary thing can get a bit of a drag if you let yourself get behind. But here I am caught up and I’m very proud of myself.
Marlene and Peter (my hosts) are really a lovely couple. He doesn’t say but she’s easy to talk to - thankfully. No, this whole being on my own thing isn’t as bad as I thought it would be. But I do wish I knew all the rules. What time is acceptable to go to bed? To get up? How much time do I have to spend with them during the day before I become an annoying, talking shadow? How long do I have to spend in my room before it becomes impolite? How much to I have to ask them about themselves before I speak about myself? Was it a three to one ratio? I can never thing of what to ask them anyway.
Oh well, I guess it will get easier as time goes on and I have to practice more and more. I hope all the families I stay with are as friendly and as nice as this one though.
Accommodation wise, I am in luxury! I have my own room with a really queen sized bed with real blankets and sheets and six pillows. I have a toilet and a bathroom all to myself (with a shower door that don’t shut properly and a bathroom door that has to be shut the right way or it will sneak open) and a big, fluffy, soft brown towel.
We had cereal and toast for breaky and I got to try Ozemite for the first time. Not my favorite - Promite is totally at the top!
After breaky, Peter left for work and Marlene and I cleaned up the kitchen and cooked for Sabbath. Then she took a moment to check emails and I chooffed off to catch up on my diary.
About 9:30 Marlene called out: “Your taxi’s here.” I gathered up my stuff and met Russ at the door. We headed off to the little church to set up and practice.
P.M. - Well, apart from an excursion into town to get some goodies for lunch, we were at the church all day! We walked out just as the sun began to set in the west.
When we arrived back at Lazlo and Rachel’s place, an opening Sabbath gathering was just about to take place. We sang and prayed and then everyone partook of the delicious looking spread of food that had been set out on the bench. I had a sore throat set in this afternoon so I took some vitamin C tablets and refrained from eating. I’m hoping and praying that the scratchyness is only the result of forgetting to take my water bottle to the church today and thus there being a drought to my body. I will be praying and putting an early night and a good sleep towards my recovery.
“And the evening and the morning were the eleventh day…”
