Marlene dropped me off at the Honti’s place this morning on her way to work. We said goodbye to her and Sandy and then knuckled down to packing. We are slowly getting quicker! I helped in all sorts of ways from folding and packing teddies, dolls and blankies to carting bags, to washing out the eski and talking to baby Joshua. Guess which chore was my favorite?
I really couldn’t tell you what time we left, but I do know that we left, after saying goodbye to the Honti’s. I don’t like goodbyes much.

Our first stop of the day was at Blackwater - the coal capital of QLD or something like that. We stopped off and explored the little information centre there.
We looked at the mine model, collected brochures and booklets and took a photo in front of a photo of a big huge truck. Then we stretched our legs as we wandered around the Japanese gardens.
After this excursion we were back on the road. We made it to Gracemere before our bodies told us that it was time to eat again. We decided just to get some pizza and when we got there, we discovered that there was an op shop right next to the Eagleboys! Oh yes! So us girls got to browse until the pizza was ready and we could eat. Once we were finished we jumped back in the car and shot through. I think we only made one pit stop between Gracemere and Hervey Bay.
When we arrived at Hervey Bay, tired and well, just a little stiff and sore, there was a warm welcome and a hot pot of soup. Ahh that hit the spot. It was so lovely to see Kym and Leisa again and for me, meet Rod for the first time. But you know what the worst thing about staying at old friend’s places is? Yeah. It’s not easy to get to bed early. Ah well that’s life with friends and I quite like it!
