It's a rainy day at home. Just the right kind of day to stay home, do housework, maybe even read by the glowing fire. I could get some work done and do some cooking. If the rain stopped for a little bit, I could go for a walk and listen to the bird sing, feel the dampness on my face and the freeness of the breeze.
But...I and my family are sitting on the side of a street in Sydney, waiting for Mum to do some jobs. Dad's listening to the radio and us kinds are watching people rush passed back and forth on their individual business.
Filth, bricks, depression, sadness, misery surrounds me and I fight to keep it at bay. I can't wait to get out of this place.
Finally, the errands are run and we wend our way through the maze of streets back to the highway which leads back to sanity - or at least the country. But all those people we leave behind, what about them? Will they get the opportunity to hear the truth that will set them free? Will they get a chance to hear about the Saviour who have Himself for their salvation? "Even so, come, Lord Jesus."
