So where am I? I'm at Do and Dare Youth Bible Camp - again! I just can't stop coming! Do & Dare has been operating for five years and I'm proud (perhaps excessively) to be one of the handful that have been to EVERY SINGLE CAMP! The first two years I was a camper and had an absolute blast and blessing from the whole experience and then the last three years I've been a counsellor, being used by God to guide my precious campers into the paths and ways of life and truth.
It's a big job being a counsellor. So why do I come back? Man! If only you knew! The blessings are just AMAZING! God is here! The bible says: "For where two or three are gathered together in My Name, there am I in the midst of them." (Matt 18:20) Well! You get 56 campers, 17 counsellors, 2 head counsellors and numerous staff and teachers (Making up nearly 100 people), gather them together in God's name and miraculous things are bound to happen!
And that's why I come back. God is truly in this place. He has been at every camp since the beginning and every year gets better! So much prayer, consideration, study and christian planning have gone into this camp in the last year that even though not everything goes smoothly, we know that God is here and when God is around, blessings are sure to pour forth from His giving nature.
It's only the second day from camp and I'm exhausted. But! It's only second day of camp and, writing this, I am so excited about the great things that God has done and that He is doing and that He will continue to do all camp long and on into our lives as long as He gives us breath. It's only the second day of camp and lives are being changed, influential friendships made and knowledge and wisdom imparted! Who couldn't help but be excited! If only you could jump up and down on 'blogger' and use expression so that my readers could see how excited I am and feel the atmosphere of christian fellowship on this campground.
I just want to finish this rather rushed post by sharing something that one of our campers shared in 'unit sharing' time this morning. She read out the verse from Jeremiah 33:3:
"Call unto me and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest now."
What an amazing promise! Thank you Father!
